STOCKAN'S | SPRINGVALE FOODS

What better way to celebrate Easter than a fabulous cheeseboard with Stockan’s Oatcakes?

Stockan’s bakery is based in the picturesque harbour town of Stromness in the Orkney Islands. Our oatcakes leave here on the ferry nearly every day and are shipped to customers all over the world. We are a 4th generation, family owned, award winning business and are very proud of our Orkney heritage. We are well known for our triangle shaped oatcakes, a shape that dates back centuries to when oats and water would be mixed together, the dough rolled out thinly like a pancake, cooked over an open fire on a round griddle and then quartered and we also make Mini oatcakes which are ideal for canapes.

Stockan’s hand-baked tasty wholegrain oatcakes; Thin, Thick and Mini Original available from Springvale Foods are all vegan accredited and made from wholegrain oats. They are high in fibre and as a complex carbs, the slow release energy will keep you fuller for longer.

Traditionally oatcakes were eaten instead of bread with soup or a hearty stew.  Times have changed and today they are enjoyed on their own or paired with your favourite sweet or savoury toppings.  They complement any cheeseboard, are popular with smoked salmon, pate, jams and chutneys.  Find out more about our oatcakes and recipe ideas at www.stockans.com
