Born To Be Millers.
Marriage’s story began in 1824 with William and Henry Marriage. Coming from a family of farmers and millers dating back to the early 1700s, the twin brothers inherited their father’s mill at the young age of seventeen. Inspired by their heritage, W & H Marriage was born.
Over 30 years ago, Sampson David Marriage became one of the early champions for organic wheat and flour production. Sampson’s son and, current director, George Marriage also helped establish the Organic Food Federation, where Marriage’s play an active role in organic research projects across the agricultural and milling industries.
Today, Marriage’s mill a wide range of flours using both modern roller milling and traditional stone grinding techniques. By using only premium wheat from local and international farmers, we continue our commitment to milling quality flour that elevates every bake. Their flours are still milled using French Burr stones from the 1800s, a time-intensive process that gives the flour a distinctive texture and unique flavour.
